HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 09, 2024: Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma, along with his spouse Sudha Dev Varma participated in the vibrant Bathukamma celebrations with the Raj Bhavan pariwar members on Wednesday at the historic Raj Bhavan premises in Hyderabad.
Sudha Dev Varma carried the traditional Bathukamma to the main lawns in front of the main house and took part in the festivities, embracing the spirit of Telangana’s iconic floral festival. She joined the Raj Bhavan Pariwar in celebrating the occasion, underscoring the significance of the state’s unique cultural heritage.
The Governor and Sudha Dev Varma extended their heartfelt wishes to the women of Telangana, both within the state and across the globe. Traditional Bathukamma songs filled the air, and Sudha Dev Varma participated alongside the women, encircling the beautifully adorned Bathukammas while singing in praise of the festival.
In a touching conclusion to the celebrations, Smt. Sudha Dev Varma carried the Bathukamma to the designated pond within Raj Bhavan and immersed it, adhering to the customs of the festival.
The event saw the presence of key dignitaries, including Hon’ble Minister for Environment & Forests and Endowments Konda Surekha; Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women & Child Welfare D Anasuya Seethakka; Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari Principal Secretary to the Governor B. Venkatesham, IAS; and other senior officials and staff members.
