

An engineering college will come up in Husnabad assembly segment represented by Ponnam Prabhakar

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 25, 2025: Good news to the people of the integrated Karimnagar district as the Telangana state government has sanctioned the Government Engineering College and a Government Law College by issuing the necessary government orders on Monday.
It was all jubilation in the backward Husnabad assembly segment represented by Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday. The people of the segment celebrated the sanction of the government engineering college in Husnabad town by bursting fireworks. They also thanked the Minister for sanctioning of the premier engineering college, which would start operations from the academic year 2025-26 onwards in the backward assembly segment.
Similarly, the Government also sanctioned a law college which would be operated from the premises of the Satavahana University in Karimnagar town from the academic year 2025-26.
The Engineering college will have four B.Tech programmes including CSE, CSE (Artificial Intelligence), Information Technology and Electronics and Communications Engineering. The college will start with an intake of 60 students in each programme. The government sanctioned Rs 44.12 crore for the construction of the college and other expenditure.
Meanwhile, the three years LLB course will be started with two sections with an intake of 60 students each and LLM (intellectual property law) with one section with an intake of 20 students. A total of Rs 22.96 crore was sanctioned for the development of the law college in Karimnagar
Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has thanked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Batti Vikramarka for sanctioning engineering and law colleges to the Satavahana University. He also felicitated the deputy CM by presenting him with a shawl and bouquet on the premises of the Assembly on Tuesday. Government Whip Adi Srinivas, MLAs Kavvampalli Satyanarayana and Medipalli Satyam, SU Vice Chancellor Prof U Umesh Kumar and others were also present.
