
Health awareness regarding cholesterol management and the prevention of heart disease was provided to all participants during the camp.
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 10, 2026: Senior Physician and API Karimnagar chapter leader Dr D Raghu Raman has conducted a special free camp with the message “Check Your Cholesterol – Protect Your Heart” as part of the National Lipid Day, which is observed on May 10th annually in India to raise awareness about dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol levels) and its role in cardiovascular diseases.
The medical staff conducted tests and detected 14 High LGL patients and 13 High Triglycerides among the total of 42 patients who attended the camp at the doctor’s clinic in Karimnagar. The camp was facilitated m/s COONA Remedies, Ahmedabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. D. Raghuraman explained that high cholesterol levels can significantly increase the risk of *heart disease, stroke, and blood vessel disorders*. He emphasised that unhealthy food habits such as consuming oily foods, junk food, lack of physical activity, smoking, and stress are major contributing factors for high cholesterol.

He also highlighted the importance of *lifestyle modification* for maintaining heart health, including:
✅ Regular walking or exercise for at least 30 minutes daily
✅ Taking a low-oil and healthy diet
✅ Increasing intake of fruits and vegetables
✅ Avoiding smoking and alcohol
✅ Undergoing regular lipid profile checkups
