HANAMKONDA, JUNE 12, 2024: Dr Yellapragada Sudershan Rao, a former Professor of History of Kakatiya University and former Chairman of Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), has been conferred the prestigious Gurukul Fellowship, according to the Officiating Member Secretary Om Jee Upadhyay.
In a mail sent to Prof Sudershan Rao on Tuesday, it was stated that the Fellowship which has been declined by Prof Sudershan Rao on the dilemma to avail of the Fellowship in the capacity of former Chairman of ICHR, the Council in its meeting held on March 27 unanimously resolved to request Prof Sudershan Rao to reconsider his decision and accept the Fellowship.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sudershan Rao said that he would accept the Fellowship. The Fellowship is of duration of two years and he would like to work on ‘Cultural History of Bharat (Remote Past)’, he added.
