

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 28, 2025: Various government institutions in the integrated Karimnagar district celebrated National Science Day to remember the Nobel Prize winner and Indian Physicist, Dr CV Raman, and to encourage the students to focus on the scientific knowledge traditions and achievements of Indian scientists in the field of science and technology on Friday (February 28, 2025).
Accordingly, the Government Degree College, Sircilla, Rajanna-Sircilla district, in association with the Telangana Academy of Sciences, organised the National Science Day. Mr T Venugopal, Principal of JNTU Engineering College, Rajanna-Sircilla district, said India had made an immense contribution to the fields of science, technology and innovatiojn. He informed the college authorities to develop the scientific temperament and observational skills among the students and appealed to the students to follow the footsteps of Sir CV Raman for dedication and creative thinking.
GDC Sircilla principal T Shankar encouraged students to develop an interest in science and research and ensure that their scientific discoveries benefit the society. S Krishna Prasad, NSD-2025 Organizing Secretary, highlighted that the **Raman Effect was discovered with an expenditure of just ₹200, demonstrating the power of scientific curiosity and innovation. To foster an interest in science among students, a state-level online physics quiz was conducted. Additionally, poster competitions, essay competitions, and speech contests were also held, with the *Telangana Academy of Sciences awarding the prizes to the winners.
The NSD-2025 event saw participation from Vice Principal T Lavanya, IQAC Coordinator M. Shobharani, Academic Coordinator A. Prasad, Staff Club Secretary G. Sridhar Rao, Chemistry Department Head K.Y. Karuna, along with other faculty members and students.
Similarly, the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Nagunuru, Karimnagar town, also celebrated the National Science Day by conducting science expo by the students of the college. Principal T Malathi, Vice Principal G Samatha, faculty members S Padmaja, science department faculty members and others were also present.
