KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 27, 2025: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police has stated that they had made elaborate arrangements to ensure peace and law order in view of the New Year celebrations across the district on December 31.
Disclosing this to newsmen during the annual crime on Saturday, Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam said that they would not allow anyone onto the bund of Lower Manair Dam and the Cable-stayed bridge and added that they had banned the use of DJ sound systems and fireworks on December 31 night.
SHE teams would also be deployed at bus stands and other areas to check eve-teasing, he said and added the special focus would be laid on drug usage at farmhouses and guest houses located on the outskirts of the town. Tests would be conducted using drug testing kits.
He said extra force would be deployed for foot patrolling, mobile patrolling and naka duties and at crowded locations like shopping malls, pubs, bars, hotels, resorts and cinema halls on Wednesday night so that people could welcome the New Year peacefully.
In view of the celebrations, the CP instructed the police officials to ensure added arrangements for crowd. He also stated that the police would be deployed in all public places and roads without causing hindrance to festivities. Special focus would be given to safety of women and children during the celebrations, he added.
He warned citizens against driving under the influence of liquor during New Year celebrations as strict action would be taken against offenders. He said special checkpoints would be set up to contain hooliganism and revelry in the name of New Year celebrations. He said the police would be on extra vigil across the state to ensure peaceful celebrations.
He said senior police officers would supervise security and traffic arrangements. He urged people to cooperate in maintaining peace and law and order in the state.
On the other hand, he said that the overall crime rate has reduced by 16.84 percent, but cybercrime cases have increased in Karimnagar in 2025. Compared to the previous year, there is an increase of 68 cybercrime cases. While 208 cases were registered in 2024, the number went up to 276 this year. Though the number is relatively small, it has become a cause of concern as cyber criminals are using different methods to cheat the public and take away money.
Out of 2,437 petitions received through the NCRP portal, FIRs were registered in 280 cases. As many as 205 cases were detected through CDRs, and an amount of Rs 1.10 crore was refunded in 352 cases.

Similarly, the number of cases registered under IPC and SLL declined to 5,126 from 6,164 cases recorded in 2024. There is no major change in burglary, murder, rape, kidnapping, crime against women, suicides, missing cases and other cases.
Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam said that the year 2025 has been largely incident-free. To give equal priority to women on par with men, female police personnel were deployed in different wings. Besides taking all precautions to maintain law and order, traffic enforcement was also carried out in an effective manner.

Out of 210 feedbacks given to the commissionerate by the public, 209 were positive and only one was negative, he said.
