RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, OCTOBER 09, 2024: The District Armed Reserve (DAR) has emerged as overall champion at the district police annual sports, which was concluded at Ambedkar stadium in Sircilla textile town on Wednesday.
Among the winners, Mr Raja Tirumallesh emerged as Best Athlete men, A Srilath (DAR) as Best Athlete Women, RSI Ramesh as Best Athlete officers, DAR Rangers had won the Tug of water competition and DAR Hunters emerged as runners up, DAR hunters have won the volleyball title followed by Sircilla soldiers as runners. DAR hunters have won the cricket tournament and Sircilla soldiers as runners up and DAR hunters also won Kabaddi title and Vemulawada Rudra as runners up.
Government Whip and Vemulawada Legislator Adi Srinivas participated as chief guest for the closing ceremony and distribution of prizes to the participants along with Choppadandi legislator Medipalli Satyam, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, SP Akhil Mahajan and others were also present.
Earlier, the Government Whip distributed a cash prize and certificate to a constable Deva Raju for saving the life of a woman, who attempted suicide in Manair rivulet on the outskirts of Sircilla town.
