Cooperatives regaining past glory in the country: NAFSCOB chairman

Karimnagar DCCB bags NAFSCOB all-India first best DCCB award for its all round performance for the year 2023-24

UN declares 2025 as International Year of Cooperatives 

KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 14, 2024: NAFSCOB and Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Mr Konduru Ravinder Rao has said that the cooperatives were regaining the past glory under the leadership of Union Minister for Cooperation Amit Shah in the country.

The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) which was established 138 years ago had ever conducted its general assembly in India, he reminded and added that for the first time ICA will be conducting its general assembly in New Delhi from November 25 to 28. The ICA assembly will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Similarly, realizing the importance and relevance of cooperatives for the development even in this 21st century, the United Nations General Assembly declared 2025 as the International year of Cooperatives (IYC), he stated.

As part of the 71st all India Cooperative week celebrations, Mr Ravinder
Rao launched the celebrations at DCCB main office in Karimnagar town by hoisting the cooperative flag and rendering cooperative song. He also offered floral tributes to First Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, the employees were administered pledged to rededicate and strive for the development of the cooperatives.

Speaking on the occasion, the NAFSCOB chairman said that Mr Nehru strived to fullfil the dream of Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Grameena Swarajya’ with a grama panchayat, a cooperative and a school in each village, by encouraging the cooperatives. Stating that the Andhra Pradesh state had made strides in the cooperatives by introducing reforms under the leadership of former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajashekhar Reddy, he said that now under the leadership of Mr Amit Shah with the constitution of separate cooperation ministry is taking several initiatives for the strengthening of cooperatives.

Among the several initiatives taken up by the Union Cooperation Ministry, the Karimnagar DCCB was ahead in adopting several initiatives such as computerisation of PACS, conversion of PACS as MSCs, petrol filling stations and more.

Karimnagar DCCB CEO N Satyanarayana Rao said that the Karimnagar DCCB has bagged NAFSCOB’ all India first best DCCB award for the allround performance for the year 2023-24. Professional Director B Gopal said that the honesty is very important in cooperative win over confidence of customers and hard work makes bank progress and benefit the employees too.

Vice Chairman Pingali Ramesh, Director M Ramachander Rao, Mandati Sagar, Aluval Kotaiah, Bhupathi Surender, Ellanki Ramesh, DCO Ramanuja Charya, DROSD Rammohan, cooperative instructor Venkateshwarlu, General managers B Sridhar, Md Riyazuddin, Union president G Hanumantha Rao and others were also present.
