KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 22, 2026: In order to check ramphant corruption in the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar under the aegis of BJP rule, the Karimnagar District Congress unit has decided to constitute ‘Gen Z Watchdog’ vigilance cell.
The Gen Z Watchdog would be constituted with 40 to 50 vigilance committee with lawyers, RTI activists, IT professionals and others. The committee over check corruption in various developmental works, allocation of permissions in the town planning department and other departments. The Watchdog telephone numbers would be displayed at all the important junctions
Disclosing this to newsmen here on Saturday, Congress Karimnagar Assembly segment in-charge Velichala Rajender Rao alleged large-scale corruption in the MCK during the BJP rule and outsmarted the BRS rule in the MCK. He said that they had constituted a Gen Z committee to check corruption in MCK in all departments with the support of the people of the town. He said that they would accord special focus on the town planning department over sanctioning huge buildings and shopping complexes and other constructions in the town.
Reminding that the Anti-Corruption Bureau had entered the MCK following the huge corruption in the town planning department, he said that the ACB inspections in the MCK show the corruption in the corporation.
Mr Rajender Rao has found fault with Konda Sushmita, daughter of Minister Konda Surekha, for her remarks against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and demanded unconditional apologies.
