MEDAK, DECEMBER 14, 2024: Medak district Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Yellaiah and Special officer (CEO) of Toopran Mandal formally inaugurated the Common Diet initiative, held at MJP (Girls) Gurukul in Toopran, Medak District on Saturday.
This ambitious programme, launched across Telangana by the state government, aims to improve the educational and living standards of students from marginalized communities. The CEO lauded the initiative as a transformative step toward the holistic development of students, particularly those from SC, ST, BC, and minority backgrounds.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO emphasized the Telangana Government’s unwavering commitment to empowering marginalized students through enhanced educational opportunities and better living conditions. He highlighted the government’s groundbreaking decisions, including a 40% increase in diet charges and a remarkable 400% hike in cosmetic charges. These enhancements, described as unprecedented in the state’s history, reflect the government’s resolve to provide quality food and essential amenities to Gurukul students, fostering an environment that supports their growth and confidence.
The CEO also shared the Telangana Government’s visionary plan to establish Young India Schools in every constituency of the state. These institutions aim to offer world-class education with top-tier facilities, ensuring that students from economically weaker sections have access to opportunities on par with private and corporate schools. This initiative, he stated, would bridge educational gaps and create avenues for a brighter future for disadvantaged students.
Encouraging students to make the most of the opportunities provided through Gurukuls, the CEO highlighted the inspiring journeys of prominent figures who once studied in these institutions. He cited the late IAS officer Sankaran, whose determination and hard work propelled him to success, as well as Sri Burra Venkatesham, the Chairman of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), and former Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy IPS. These individuals, he noted, are shining examples of how perseverance and excellence can lead to extraordinary achievements.
The CEO urged the students to emulate these role models, develop exceptional skills, and strive for high-ranking positions in various fields. He called upon them to contribute to the progress of Telangana, their home state, and elevate its reputation globally. Concluding his speech, he expressed his heartfelt hope that Gurukul students would fulfil their aspirations and emerge as leaders who carry forward Telangana’s legacy and bring honour to the state on a global stage.
The event was made even more memorable by cultural performances from the students, which captivated the audience. The ceremony was attended by Toopran Mandal Education Officer Dr Parvati Satyanarayana, Principal Malka Sandhyarani, teachers, parents, and students, making it a truly inspiring occasion for all present.
