
KARIMNAGAR, MAY 23, 2025: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has formally unveiled the bust-size statue of Lok Satta Udyama Samstha Karimnagar district founder president and crusader against corruption and former UBI Manager Naredla Srinivas on the premises of Film Bhavan in Karimnagar town on Friday.
Incidentally, Mr Prabhakar made Lok Satta Srinivas’s wife, Madhu, unveil the statue. Former MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, Collector Pamela Satpathy, Telangana BC Welfare Residential Schools Joint Secretary GV Shyam Prasad Lal, Karimnagar film society president Ponnam Ravichandra and others were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhakar recollected his association with Mr Srinivas, who is popularly called as Lok Satta Seenanna since his college days when he was the students’ union president of SRR government Degree College in Karimnagar town and his relation with former MPs of Karimnagar, J Chokka Rao and M Satyanarayana Rao. He said that he had an opportunity to travel with Srinivas to Ralegaon Siddi in Maharashtra state to study the water conservation project.
Stating that Mr Srinivas had secured abundant support from his family members, Mr Prabhakar said that Mr Srinivas played a key role in the Karimnagar Consumers Council, RTI activist, Karimnagar Film society member and also Lok Satta Udyama Samstha, Election Watch and several social service programmes.
The Minister said that Mr Srinivas, as the UBI bank manager, had provided financial assistance to several people of the town. He said that people of the Karimnagar district would remember the name and fame of Lok Satta Seenanna forever, like former Karimnagar MP J Chokka Rao. He also called upon the gathering to follow the footsteps of Senanna and fulfil his dream of serving society.
Leading businessmen of SVG industries, Bhagwan Das Karwa, Venugopal Karwa and Krishna Karwa and others also attended the programme and paid tributes to Seenanna. The Lok Satta Udyama Samstha and Karimnagar Consumer Council activists Prakash Holla, R Chandra Prabhakar, KS Narayana, M Gangadhar, Syed Muzaffar, Musku Mahender and others recollected their association with Srinivas.
They said that Srinivas had completed his LLB and LLM education after his retirement as the UBI branch manager, only for the cause of society, and to update his knowledge about the law and file consumer-related and other public issues cases in the courts.
