Brightening up lives of orphans on Diwali

KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 01, 2024: With more and more people preferring to lace their Diwali celebrations with social concern, a few doctors from  Karimnagar town celebrated the festival of lights with around 62 orphan children at Kapil Bala Kuteer in Karimnagar town on Thursday evening.

Doctors team eminent and senior physician Dr D Raghuraman and his friends Dr Peddi Sandeep and Dr M Ravikanth joined with the children of orphanage to make the occasion an unforgettable one. They distributed sweets and shared pleasantries.

Brightening up the lives of these people sums up the spirit of Diwali, Dr Raghuraman said and added that this noble gesture is in stark contrast to the extravagance of spending excessively on firecrackers, thereby adding to the air and noise pollution.

“We get a peaceful atmosphere by coming and interacting with the children as it gives us immense pleasure,” the doctors said  and added even for the inmates of the orphanage it gives them a sense of belonging and family. The Doctors interacted with the children and inquired about the air pollution being caused by bursting fireworks. All the children spoke at length about the air and noise pollution due to fireworks. Representatives of Bala Kuteer Srinivas, Krishnaveni, Vakula Devi were also present.
