
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 19, 2025: Students of Alphores Women’s Degree College in Karimnagar town celebrated the Bathukamma (the festival of flowers) with religious fervour and gaiety at a private function hall in Karimnagar town on Friday.
The event was jointly organised by NSS and the Cultural Club of the college. Satavahana University Vice Chancellor Prof U Umesh Kumar and his wife Sharada Umesh, college correspondent V Ravinder Reddy, Principal Goli Srinivas, Vice Principals, NSS programme officers N Rajitha, J Anjaneyulu, Santosh, Ramesh and teaching faculty members and Cultural club members and students participated in the celebrations. The VC launched the celebrations by lighting the lamp.
The girl students and women teachers arrived in their best attire and participated in the preparation of Bathukammas by stacking different varieties of flowers in a conical shape and worshipping Goddess Guari. The students and teachers danced around the beautiful floral formation of Bathukammas and Goddess Gauri by singing songs in her praise with religious fervour and unmatched enthusiasm. Later, the Bathukammas were immersed in the Kothapalli minor irrigation tank as part of the ritual.
