HYDERABAD, JUNE 05, 2024: The Telangana state government has decided to launch the Prof Jayashankar ‘Badi bata’ (enrolment drive into government schools0 from June 6 to 19, 2024 in all schools for the academic year 2024-25, according to official sources here on Wednesday.
As part of the ‘Badi bata’ programme which shall be taken up in the morning from 7 am to 11 am on each in all the schools, the eligible Anganwadi children and five plus age group children would be enrolled into the nearby primary schools in class-I in coordination with the officials of women development and child welfare department.
They would identify school-age and out of the school children, drop outs, never enrolled children and long absentees with the help of women SHG members and design an action to enroll them in appropriate classes in the government schools
The officials would also educate the importance of studying in the government schools wherein they have trained and well-qualified teachers, free education, free books, midday meals, uniforms etc. They would educate about the residential schools. They would also conduct mass ‘aksharabhyasam’ (initiation of education) programmes on June 14.
