WARANGAL, APRIL, 2026: An awareness program titled “Scientists at the Farmers’ Doorstep—An Awareness Initiative for Food Providers” was successfully organized in Pallaruguda, Sangem Mandal, under the aegis of the Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University and the Department of Agriculture on Thursday.
The event saw the participation of Dr. A. Vijaya Bhaskar (Coordinator, TRVK, Warangal), Dr. D. Veeranna (Scientist), M. Vijaya Nirmala (ATMA Project Director), and B. Jagadeeshwar (Mandal Agricultural Officer). Speaking at the event, Dr. A. Vijaya Bhaskar, Coordinator of TRVK, Warangal, urged farmers to exercise caution regarding several key aspects of agriculture. In particular, he raised awareness among farmers regarding the need to reduce urea consumption and prioritize the preservation of soil health.
He emphasized the necessity of protecting the environment by utilizing chemical inputs only to the extent absolutely required. Furthermore, he provided farmers with detailed information on crop rotation techniques, the balanced use of fertilizers and water conservation methods. He offered suggestions on how to maximize income by selecting crop varieties that are aligned with current market demands. He explained that higher yields could be achieved by adopting scientific methods in farming.
Additionally, he encouraged farmers to consider transitioning toward organic farming and highlighted the importance of managing pests and diseases through integrated pest management strategies. The event was graced by the presence of the Village Sarpanch, Ms. G. Sarojana, as the guest. Agricultural Extension Officer Ms. Mounika, agriculture college students Rakesh and Ramya and a large number of farmers also participated, taking the opportunity to get their doubts clarified regarding various aspects of agriculture.
