
WARANGAL, JULY 19, 2025: Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology and G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, visited the Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet on Saturday along with other dignitaries and public representatives. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway; Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division; Principal Heads of the Departments, SCR and other senior officials were also present.
Addressing the media personnel at the site, Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the Mega Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet is being developed with modern, state-of-the-art technology with a cost of Rs 521 crores. He informed that the civil construction works at the manufacturing unit will be completed by December 2025, while the entire project is expected to be completed by the end of the year 2026. The Union Minister stated that the manufacturing unit has high potential and has been designed flexibly to manufacture coaches, engines and metro trains. Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that he is happy with the progress of work at the manufacturing unit. India will soon become a huge Railway Manufacturing and Railway Exporting country, he added.

Kishan Reddy, Union Minister, thanked the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, for fulfilling the long-cherished dream of the people of Telangana state. He said that the upcoming Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet will be equipped with the latest technology and will not only manufacture coaches but also engines. He stated that around 3,000 people will get employment directly and indirectly through this project. Further, he stated that 40 Railway stations in Telangana state are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, out of which 3 stations, including Warangal Amrit station, were recently inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. The Hon’ble Union Minister stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister & Railway Minister, the Rail infrastructure in Telangana state is witnessing unprecedented development, be it Vande Bharat trains, electrification, new trains, ABSS stations etc.
Earlier, the Hon’ble Union Ministers inspected the ongoing construction works at the Railway Manufacturing Unit. They reviewed the progress of the project and inspected the safety aspects at the construction site.
