Alphores school student selected to visit Japan as part of SAKURA programme

PEDDAPALLI, MAY 16, 2024: Mustyala Poojasri, tenth class student from Alphores high school, Sultanabad in Peddapalli district, has been selected to visit Japan under the Japan-Asia exchange programme in science, a programme launched by Japan Science and Technology Agency also known as SAKURA science plan.

A project designed by Poojasri on “Axle camera for school buses” to prevent accidents has won several national awards. It had won national award at the national-level science competition conducted as part of the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Her project was also displayed at Rashtrapathi bhavan as part of Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) and witnessed by President of Indian Droupadi Murmu.

Poojasri would be visiting Tokyo city of Japan from May 19 to 25 as part of SAKURA programmes. She would be interacting with several eminent scientists and share her innovation. Accordingly, the Ministry of Science and Technology had sent her the invitation to visit Japan.

DEO Madhavi D Madhavi congratulated Poojasri for her selection to visit Japan and participate in SAKURA programmes. Incidentally, she is the second student from the Peddapalli district after Dasari Harshitha of ZPHS Chandapur, who visited Japan and participated in SAKURA programme. The DEO and District Science Officer Ravinandhan Rao congratulated the student and her guide teacher.
