Karimnagar, June 19, 2026: Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Karimnagar, inaugurated a two-day training programme on “AI & Digital Learning” under the Anna Akka Mentorship initiative. The programme is being organised for faculty members and final-year students with the aim of promoting awareness and practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. D. Varalakshmi emphasised the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence in the modern world and urged students to actively participate in the training sessions. She stated that AI has emerged as a powerful tool in education, innovation, and career development, and its responsible use can help students become future-ready. She further informed that final-year students would be trained to take AI and Digital Learning awareness to Government School students, thereby contributing to the Government’s vision of digital empowerment in education.
Controller of Examinations G. Srinivas advised the participants to make the best use of the two-day programme and acquire skills that would benefit them academically and professionally. On this occasion, M. Kalpana, Nodal Officer, explained that the initiative is designed to equip final-year students with the knowledge and confidence required to conduct AI and Digital Learning sessions for students of Classes IV to IX in Government Schools. She also noted that students who complete the training and outreach activities will be awarded two academic credits in their final-year records.
Mogili, Nodal Officer, stated that the programme would help participants gain practical exposure to AI tools, enhance their digital skills, and develop the ability to effectively train school students. He expressed confidence that the initiative would create a strong network of student mentors capable of spreading AI awareness at the grassroots level. The programme was anchored by Smt. J. Swapna, who also serves as a Nodal Officer for the initiative.
The training is being conducted by Mr. Aravind Kumar Naini of Sree Chaitanya College of Engineering, who will provide hands-on training on AI and Digital Learning to faculty members and final-year students over the next two days. Faculty members and students participated enthusiastically in the inaugural session.
