
HYDERABAD, MAYN 19, 2025: A 5-day Capacity Building Programme for 33 Library Professionals, Private Secretaries & Stenographers to Chairpersons of Parliamentary Committees and Hon’ble Members of the Parliament has been inaugurated by Santhi Kumari, Vice Chairman & Director General, Dr. MCR HRD Institute and Former Chief Secretary to Govt. of Telangana on Monday Dr. MCR HRD Institute. She emphasized the crucial role of the Officers of the Lok Sabha Secretariat and highlighted their contribution in the smooth functioning of the Secretariat. She expressed confidence that the training program would equip the Officers with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities in order to empower them to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
She highlighted that the enhanced capabilities would enable the Officers to provide better assistance to Members of Parliament, Chairpersons of Parliamentary Committees, and other Senior Officers of the Lok Sabha Secretariat and ultimately to foster a productive working environment in the Secretariat. “By investing in the training and development of the Officers, the Lok Sabha Secretariat will continue to provide high quality support to Members of Parliament and uphold the dignity of the institution”, she opined.

PK Mallick, Director, Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), Lok Sabha Secretariat, thanked the Officials of Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana for meticulously customizing a training module for the Officials of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, keeping in view of their training needs. He emphasized that the training program will bring in its wake a number of beneficial outcomes for the Private Secretaries & Stenographic Service and Library Professionals.
Dr Kandukuri Usha Rani, Course Director & Head, Centre for Disaster Management and Sustainable Development, welcomed the Officers and presented the salient features of the Capacity Building Program. “The unique fusion of the class room sessions and field visits will enable the Officers to understand the issues relating to their role in their true and total frame of reference”, she added.
