KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 03, 2025: The Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) has emerged as the best cooperative bank in the country by winning several national awards and has also emerged as a study centre for various other cooperative banks to visit the bank and study its success formula and adopt its best practices.
But, the perilous road with a huge pit of a drainage in the middle of the road to enter the bank premises has become a cause of concern for several decades, despite making several representations to the Municipal authorities of Karimnagar town. Besides, the encroachment of the road leading to the bank by the small-time traders and auto-wallahs by setting up unauthorised and illegal auto-stand boards has become a cause of concern for the bank officials and the visitors from various cooperative banks in the country to the Karimnagar DCCB.
Thanks to the lethargy on the part of the district authorities, including MCK and Traffic police, the officials have not taken up any repairs to the road which is damaged in the middle of the road causing traffic snarls and embarrassment situation to KDCCB officials when several VIPs visit the bank as part of the study tours. Freshly, the Telangana state Commission for SC\STs, which visited the bank to review ROR, had to face a similar situation due to a huge pit in the middle of the road.
Taking advantage of the pit in the middle of the road, the auto-wallahs erected a traffic police barricade and converted the place into an auto-stand. It will be shocking to note that there are three auto-stands around the DCCB causing nuisance to the customers and other road-users. Incidentally, a person wearing a T-shirt which reads ‘Traffic police volunteer’ will be regulating the illegal parking of autos in the unauthorized auto-stands, causing traffic snarls around the Karimnagar DCCB. Besides, the encroachment of the road in front of the bank by other traders is a common sight.
Sometimes, the autowallahs so an embarrassing situation for the bank officials that they park the autos in front of the gate and do not allow the vehicles of VIPs and others from entering the premises. The bank officials deploy special staff to regulate the autos during the VIPs’ visit, but the huge pit in the middle of the road and its conversion into parking for the auto stand is quite embarrassing and causing traffic snarls.
It is time for the MCK authorities to take up the repairs of the road by removing the huge pit so that the traffic would move smoothly. The traffic police were also advised to launch a special drive against the illegal and unauthorized auto-stands as they were causing lots of traffic problems in the town.
