RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, MAY 05, 2025: Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada of Rajanna-Sircilla district is packed to the brim with the arrival of hordes of devotees on the auspicious Monday (May 5, 2025).
Pilgrims dipped in the Holy tank (dharmagundam) and formed serpentine queues to offer prayers to the presiding deities. The devotees competed to offer the traditional ‘kode mokku’ (tying of an ox) at the temple shrine, which is a ritual for the fulfillment of the woes.
In view of prevailing heat wave conditions, the temple authorities elaborated arrangements for the devotees visiting the shrine. The devasthanam authorities erected temporary shelters to protect the devotees from heat and also supplied drinking water in queue lines.
On the other hand, eminent lyricist and singer Manukota Prasad visited the temple shrine and offered prayers. He had become popular for his lyrics for the title track of ‘Rudrangi’ Telugu feature film starring Jagapathi Babu, Mamatha Mohandas and others in the year 2023. He had also written and sung several folk songs which have big hit on Youtube channel.
On this occasion, Mr Prasad said that the people of the Telangana state would offer prayers to Vemulawada Rajanna before taking up any works. He said that he would compose and sing a song on Vemulawada temple and presiding Lord Shiva and release on Youtube channel.
