TIRUPATI, AUGUST 06, 2026: On behalf of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and Sri Venkateswara Swamy, TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra offered traditional silk robes (Pattu Vastrams) to Sri Subrahmanya Swamy Temple on Thursday as part of the annual Aadi Krittika celebrations.
The TTD delegation was received by Tiruttani Temple Chairman Sri Sridhar, Joint Commissioner Smt. Janaki, Temple Board members, and other officials. The silk robes were ceremonially offered to Sri Subrahmanya Swamy along with Sri Valli and Sri Devasena.
Speaking on the occasion, the EO said Tiruttani is one of the most revered Subrahmanya temples in India. He noted that TTD has been offering silk robes to the deity every year during Aadi Krittika since 2006. He prayed for the good health, happiness, and prosperity of all devotees.
Located about 50 km from Tirupati in Tamil Nadu, Tiruttani is one of the six sacred Arupadai Veedu shrines of Lord Subrahmanya. According to temple tradition, Lord Subrahmanya appeared here with His consorts Sri Valli and Sri Devasena after defeating the demon Surapadma.
The temple is also associated with the legend of Vasuki, the serpent king, who is believed to have attained relief from his wounds after taking a holy bath in the temple tank. Aadi Krittika is one of the temple’s most important festivals, during which thousands of devotees offer beautifully decorated Kavadis in fulfillment of their vows.
TTD Board Member Sri Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Deputy EO Sri Lokanatham, temple priests, and other officials participated in the programme.
