KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 29, 2025: Tiny tots of St George Nino’s Block (CBSE) schools in various parts of Karimnagar town viz. Rekurthy, Vidyanagar, and Thimmapur, Karimnagar, celebrated Ugadi, the Telugu New Year, in advance with great enthusiasm. Ugadi marks the beginning of the Telugu New Year, and it is the first festival of the Telugu people.

The term “Ugadi” is derived from the Sanskrit words “yuga” (age) and “adi” (beginning). It marks the beginning of a new age. The Ugadi pachchadi, a dish made with a mixture of six tastes – sweet, sour, salty, bitter, tangy and astringent – is traditionally prepared on this day.
Students attended the celebrations dressed in their colourful traditional attire. The event was attended by Chairman P Fatima Reddy, Incharges Sangeetha, Sandhya, and Swapna, students, and the teaching staff. The celebrations included traditional Ugadi festivities, cultural programmes, and the distribution of Ugadi pachchadi.
