RTC to operate 700 special buses from various parts of the integrated Karimnagar district
Women and girls can travel free in the special buses under the Mahalakshmi scheme as well. However, the scheme applies to ordinary and express services
KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 27, 2026: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Karimnagar region has formally launched the special bus services from Karimnagar operating point on the premises of Karimnagar bus station complex on Tuesday.
RTC regional manager B Raju along with Deputy RMs S Bhupathi Reddy and P Mallesham, formally flagged the first bus service to Medaram jatara. The TGSRTC Karimnagar region would operate over 700 special buses to the biennial Medaram Samakka-Sarakka jatara to be held in Mulugu district from January 27 to 31 from various parts of the integrated Karimnagar district.
A total of140 buses would be operated from Karimnagar town to Medaram, and the fares include Rs 390 for adults and Rs 220 for children. About 50 buses from Husnabad, and the fares include Rs 350 for adults and Rs 200 for children. Fifty buses from Huzurabad to Medaram, and the fares include: Rs 320 for adults and Rs 180 for children.
A total of 175 buses run from Peddapalli to Medaram, and the fares include Rs 420 for adults and Rs 240 for children. Around 115 buses run from Godavarikhani to Medaram, and the fares include Rs 400 for adults and Rs 210 for children. A record number of 170 buses would be operated from Manthani, and the fares include Rs 350 for adults and Rs 210 for children.
The authorities had made all arrangements, including temporary shelters and queue lines, drinking water, a medical camp for the commuters proceeding on a pilgrimage to Medaram, and the special buses would be operated 24×7. The devotees could reach very near the altars of the tribal Gods at Medaram. Incidentally, the Mahalakshmi scheme would be applicable in these special buses also for the women passengers.
The RTC authorities informed the parents to utilise the QR code-based ‘Child Tracking Monitoring System’ to rescue missing children and elderly persons. Karimnagar-1 depot manager I Vijaya Madhuri, Assistant Traffic manager (Karimnagar station) L Mallesham, Supervisors Hima Bindu, Tirupati, Vijaya Lakshmi, MG Kishan, Madhavi, welfare board members Lakshmi, Sampath, Health volunteer Sujatha and others were also present
