

HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 05, 2024: A Nirmal district resident, who led a miserable life in the Gulf nation to graze camels, and was repatriated by the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia following the intervention by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, has thanked the Chief Minister and met him at his residence in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad on Saturday.


Mr Namdev Rathod, a native of Mudhole mandal in Nirmal district, came to work in Kuwait and later was brought to a desert in Saudi Arabia where he was assigned a camel shepherd’s job. Namdev had made a selfie video, appealing to Revanth Reddy to help him return home to Telangana.

Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation chairman Anil Eravath, who is also former NRI, Congress party NRI cell leaders Manda Bheem Reddt, Chennamaneni Srinivas Rao, Swadesh Parikipandla, Nangi Devender and others met the CM and thanked his noble gesture. Saudi Arabia Telugu Association (SATA) team led by noted community worker Siddik Tuvoor along with SATA general secretary Muzzamil Shaikh travelled about 1400 km to trace Namdev, before he was repatriated.
Now Namdev Rathod seeks support from the Telangana government to raise buffaloes so that he can sell milk and start a fresh life in his home town.
