Celestial wedding of Lord Rama with his consort Sita on April 22 at Vontimitta
VONTIMITTA (AP), APRIL 18, 2024: The annual Brahmotsavam in Vontimitta Sri Kodanda Ramalayam off to a grand start with Dhwajarohanam on Wednesday in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.
The entire temple premises reverberated to the rhythmic Vedic mantras from Pancharatra Agama. As the Pundits were chanting the hymns, the Garuda flag was hoisted on the temple pillar in the auspicious Mithuna Lagnam.
Each deity including Asta Dikpalakas, Vishwaksena, Panchabhutas etc. were appeased and invited to participate in the mega-religious event by rendering a specific raga and a Tala.
Various Talams like Akhya talam, Varuna talam, Eka talam, Adi talam, Jampala talam, Bhringini talam, Rupaka talam, Gamdharva Yalam, Nandi Talam besides Anandavardhana Ragam, Suruti Ragam, Nadanamakriya, Lalita, Malaya Ragam, Megharanjani Ragam, Vasantabhairavi. Bhairavi, Srikara, Shankarabharanam Ragas were rendered in Nadaswaram in a melodious manner.
Speaking on the occasion, JEO Sri Veerabrahmam said the annual utsavams commenced in colourful way with Dhwajarohanam. The Hanumanta vahana seva would be conducted on April 20, The celestial Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 22 between 6:30pm and 8:30pm, Rathotsavam on April 23 and Chakrasnanam on April 25. Elaborate arrangements of Annaprasadam, buttermilk and water distribution, security arrangements have been made for the sake of devotees in coordination with District Administration
EE Krishna Reddy, DyEOs Natesh Babu, Siva Prasad, DFO Srinivas, Garden Superintendent Srinivasulu, VGO Bali Reddy and other officials, devotees, archakas were also present.
