TIRUMALA, SEPTEMBER 23, 2024: Priests have performed a four-hour long Shanti Home to undo alleged desecrations that occurred during YSRCP regime at Tirumala was performed from 6 am to 10 am on Monday.
The purification ritual was performed at Yagashala near Bangaru Bavi in the Tirumala temple amid chanting of Vedic hymns and all traditions.
TTD Executive officer J Syamala Rao said that they had conducted the Shanti homam to overcome the misconceptions about the adulterated ghee used in Srivari Naivedhyam which hurt the sentiments of millions and millions of devotees across the world.
From August 15-17, we performed Pavitrotsavams which is an annual three day sin free festival prescribed in Agama Shastra. However , since the presence of adulterated ingredients were identified in Srivari Naivedyams, the Agama Salaha Mandali has decided to perform Shanti Homam, the EO said.
Elaborating on the measures taken up by TTD over the improvement in the taste of laddus the EO said TTD has now changed the entire system of procurement of pure cow ghee. The EO said, with these reforms now the taste of laddu prasadam has improved by many folds and the devotees express immense satisfaction over quality of Laddus, he maintained.
