

VONTIMITTA (KADAPA-AP): The divine wedding ceremony at Vontimitta in Kadapa district witnessed a sea of humanity as every inch of the galleries in Kalyana Vedika was occupied by the devotees thronging from different parts of the state besides Kadapa district.

The unique feature of this Kalyanam is held under the pleasant presence of the full moon, following a local legend which says that the Moon God, Chandra, was granted the boon to witness the celestial wedding of Sri Rama under the moonlight after missing the original ceremony in Tretayuga.
The celestial marriage ceremony began at 6:30 p.m. with Bhagavat Vignapanam and lasted till 8:30 pm.
Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by his spouse Bhuvaneswari Devi, witnessed the entire event with utmost devotion.
The divine marriage lasted for over two hours and involved a series of rituals, including Anugna, Sankalpam, and Punyahavachanam, as per the tenets of Pancharatra Agama.
The much-awaited episode, Mangalyasutra Pooja, Mangalyasutra Dharana, and Akshataropanam, was performed with utmost religious fervour, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic hymns.
The celestial fete is completed after Nivedana, Veda Swasti and Mahada Aseervachanam.
The twin jewels presented to Vontimitta Kodanda Rama were displayed on the occasion.
The traditional Edurkolu ritual, Talambralu and finally concluded with Purnahuti.
Later the devotees were presented laddus, kankanams, akshatalu kits along with Annaprasadam on the occasion.
AP Endowments Minister Sri Ramnarayan Reddy, a galaxy of protocol VIPs, TTD Board Chairman Sri BR Naidu, EO Sri Syamala Rao, TTD Trust Board members, Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, CVSO Incharge Sri Harshavardhan Raju were also present.
Among others, a few State officials, District Collector Sridhar, SP Ashok Kumar and other district officials were also present.
