MEDARAM (MULUGU DT), FEBRUARY 22, 2024: Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy has said that they were taking all measures for the opening of the Samakka-Sarakka Tribal Central University from this academic year (2024-25) onwards.
The Union Minister visited the Medaram shrine and offered prayers to the tribal deities on Thursday. On this occasion, he offered ‘bangaram’ (jaggery) equal of his weight as an offering. Later, talking to newsmen, he said that the government had taken up Samakka-Sarakka Tribal central university at a cost of Rs 900 crore and added that they had already acquired 337 acres of land for the university. He said that they would priority for the tribals of the region for admissions into the Tribal university.
He said that they would start classes from Jakaram youth training centre from this academic year onwards. He said that the Hyderabad Central University would be acting as advisor for Tribal university. Minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka, Collector Ila Tripathi, Endowments Commissioner V Anil Kumar and others were also present.
