

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 18, 2025: It was a pleasant surprise for the students of various government schools as it was a unique and real-world experience as they became vegetable sellers for a day at Rythu Bazaar in Kashmirgadda locality in Karimnagar town on Monday.


The vegetables grown in the kitchen gardens of various schools were sold at the rythu bazaar for a hands-on learning opportunity for the students to apply practical knowledge about money calculation, weights and measures, entrepreneurship, customer interaction and confidence building.
To develop business skills among the students, the district education department in cooperation with the Janya Foundation organised a model vegetable market on Monday. Vegetables grown in various government schools adopting organic farming methods were sold at the model market, which was inaugurated by Collector Pamela Satpathy, who also purchased the vegetables to encourage the students.
On this occasion, the Collector advised students to develop business skills besides excelling in studies. It was possible to get good results if transactions were done in the market following business skills.
Emphasizing the need to explain the importance of organic products, she wanted the students to educate their parents about growing vegetables and other products using organic methods.
A total of 60 students from around 12 government and Zilla Parishad schools have participated in the programme by selling the vegetables grown in their kitchen gardens. Students of Government high school, Dhangarwadi, Asifnagar, Burugupalli, Manakondur, Nusthullapur, Kannapur, Nagula Malyal, Nagunuru, Jangapallai, Chelpur, Kothapalli, Huzurabad participated in the programmes and won accolades for their marketing skills and there was bumper sale of their products too. DEO Ch Janardhan Rao, district science officer Jaipal Reddy, coordinators Ashok Reddy and Srinivas, Janya foundation operation manager Surender and others were also present.
