Lord of Tirumala rides Kalpa Vruksha vahanam on fourth day of Brahmotsavam

TIRUMALA, OCTOBER 07, 2024: On the fourth day of the ongoing Brahmotsavams on Monday, Lord Malayappa was taken out on the golden ‘Kalpa Vruksha’ (Tree of Boons) Vahanam around the Mada streets of the sacred shrine in Tirmala.

Kalpa vruksham is a tree that is believed to grant boons and fulfil devotees wishes. The vehicle shaped like the Kalpavriksham signifies that the Lord grants boons and fulfils the wishes of his devotees.

Dressed as Rajamannar, the deity flanked on either side by his two consorts was taken around in a grand procession, with a large number of devotees having darshan. Celestial bodies like Kamadhenu and Chintamani were part of the assemblage atop the vahanam.

Thousands of devotees took part in the divine event as it is widely believed that the wishes of all those who witness the procession are fulfilled. TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao and others were also present.

It is widely believed that all the wishes of the devotees shall be fulfilled by just praying to the Lord while on the ‘vahanam.’ According to mythology, the celestial tree — Kalpavriksha — is a divine component that had surfaced during the churning of the milky ocean (Ksheera Sagaram) even before the inception of the universe.
