

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 31, 2025: Oggukatha, the folk artists from Thadijerri village of Gangadhara mandal in Karimnagar district, have won accolades for their outstanding performances during the Ugadi celebrations conducted by Telugu Association of Lucknow in collaboration with Bhatkhande Sanskrit Vishwavidhyala, Lucknow and Department of Language and Culture of both Telangana and Uttar Pradesh state on Sunday night.

Thadijerri Oggukatha folk artists from Mallikarjuna Oggukala seva samithi led by Gunta Mahender, Eera Ganesh, Gaddam Ramu, Mekala Prashanth, Nagam Moggaiah, Pole Anil, Pole Srikanth, Bandari Vijay, Pole Shiva Kumar and others performed during the Ugadi festivities in Lucknow.
The Uttar Pradesh state IAS officers K Ravinder Naik and Guru Prasad, Telugu Association of Lucknow president DN Reddy have felicitated the Oggukatha artists for their scintillating performances of Oggudolo and other music and dance forms in a synchronized manner. The Oggudolo artists have thanked the Telangana Department of Language and Culture Director Mamidi Harikrishna for encouraging the local folk artists at the national level.
