TIRUPATI, AUGUST 21, 2026: Â The Varalakshmi Vratam was celebrated in a grand and devotional manner at Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanur, on Friday. TTD EO Sri Muddada Ravichandra and Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkayya Chowdary participated in the celebrations.
Special rituals including Suprabhatam, Sahasranama Archana, Abhishekam, Vishwaksena Aradhana, Kalasha Sthapana and Lakshmi Sahasranama Archana were performed. Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru was adorned in a golden saree and worshipped with traditional flowers. The Vratam concluded with Maha Mangala Harathi after offering 12 varieties of Naivedyam.
Auspicious Vratam for Women
Temple priests said the Varalakshmi Vratam is traditionally believed to bless women with prosperity, health, family well-being, good progeny and long marital life. Performing the Vratam in the divine presence of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru is considered especially auspicious.

Elaborate Arrangements for Devotees
TTD JEO Dr. A. Sharath said special arrangements were made for the large number of women who participated in the Vratam. Special queues, Annaprasadam, drinking water, buttermilk and prasadam were provided. The programme was also telecast live through SVBC.
Splendid Floral Decorations
The TTD Gardens Department beautifully decorated the temple and Vratam Mandapam with nearly 3 tonnes of traditional flowers and 30,000 cut flowers of 14 varieties. Gaja Lakshmi, Airavatas and Ashtalakshmi idols formed the major attractions. Seven LED screens were arranged at different locations for devotees to watch the celebrations.
Golden Chariot Procession
Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru will take a divine procession on the Golden Chariot at 6 pm through the four Mada Streets and bless the devotees.
TTD Board members, senior officials, temple staff and a large number of devotees participated in the celebrations.
