KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 07, 2024: With the Dasara festival is nearing, many rituals are being organised by different communities, religious and spiritual organisations, temple authorities and resident welfare associations in Karimnagar town.
However, Sri Mahalakshmi temple in Chaitanyapuri in Karimnagar town had become a hot favourite for the Dandiya Raas and Garba dance during the Navarathri festivities at the temple shrine. Thanks to the initiatives taken by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who had constructed the Mahalakshmi temple over a decade ago, he had encouraged the conduct of Dandiya festivities during the Navaratri festivities.
Initially, the turnout was low, but later it gained momentum with a maximum number of devotees participating in the celebrations. Right from the children to the senior citizens everyone is participating with lots of enthusiasm during the Dandiya Raas and Garba dance hailing the Goddess Durga.
Earlier, a few Gujaratis, Rajasthanis and others used to hold Dandiya during Navarathri. But with the advent of Sri Mahalakshmi temple, the dandiya had become very popular in the district and all sections of society are coming to the temple shrine and participating in the Dandiya raas till late night.
Amid high-voltage music and scintillating lighting arrangements, it is feast for the eyes of the devotees visiting the temple shrine to watch the Dandiya Raas and Garba.
