
Campaign organised in Jammikunta of Karimnagar district through Krishi Vignan Kendras
The goal is to bridge the gap between agricultural research and the farming community by delivering knowledge directly to the fields

HYDERABAD, MAY 29, 2025: Dr. RC Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education) and Acting Director, IACR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), along with Dr. Sheikh N Meera, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Hyderabad and other Leaders of ICAR organisations and State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) of Telangana, launched the “Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” in Telangana on Thursday at a huge campaign organised in Jammikunta of Karimnagar district.
Kodanda Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Commission, participated as the Chief Guest. Meanwhile, in Telangana, 216 teams of experts, including scientists of ICA,R are participating in a 15-day campaign through 64 KVKs during this Abhiyan from May 29 to June 12, 2025. Six teams of scientists from ICAR-NAARM are actively participating in the Abhiyan at various parts of Telangana.
This campaign in Telangana is part of a national outreach initiative by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), scheduled to take place during the Pre-Kharif season from May 29, 2025, to June 12, 2025. The goal is to bridge the gap between agricultural research and the farming community by delivering knowledge directly to the fields. ICAR-ATARI Zone X in Hyderabad is coordinating and organising this campaign in Telangana.
Approximately 26 teams of scientists from Krishi Vignan Kendras, ICAR research institutes, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), and officials from various departments will engage with around 12 lakh farmers in Telangana during the campaign. They will conduct awareness programs focused on new crop varieties, improved technologies, seed availability, and welfare schemes from both the Central and State Governments. Farmers will have the opportunity to ask questions, and they will learn about how to avail the benefits of government schemes. The teams will distribute technology outreach materials and handouts detailing the various Central and State Government schemes for farmers.
Additionally, team members will gather feedback, opinions, and innovative ideas from farmers, as well as inventions that could be refined and shared further. On a national level, 2,196 teams of scientists will reach approximately 1 to 1.5 crore farmers across the country to raise awareness about improved agricultural technologies and various government schemes.
