KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 11, 2024: Telangana’s rich culinary flavours and gastronomic heritage were displayed at Telangana Flavour Fiesta organised by the Department of Zoology of the SRR Government Arts and Science College in Karimnagar town on Monday.
The event was organised to promote cultural awareness and showcase the rich culinary heritage of the Telangana villages. Principal Professor K Ramakrishna inaugurated the exhibition and speaking on the occasion emphasized the importance of preserving Telangana’s cultural traditions in today’s digital age. Students from various departments prepared and presented an array of nutritious and traditional dishes, highlighting the state’s diverse culinary landscape.
The visitors at the food festival savoured the traditional delicacies of Telangana state. The students prepared traditional dishes of the state such as Bagara rice, Kodi kura, puri, sarva pindi, appalu, bakshalu, gudalu, pulihora, boti thalakaya kura, paya soup, garjelu and many more items of the region.
The food fest was organised keeping in mind the awareness to be given to general public regarding the foods. Students displayed the stalls related with food information. To foster creativity and teamwork, the college offered prizes for the top three presentations. S. Ramesh Babu, Head of the Zoology Department, announced the awards.
This unique exhibition celebrated Telangana’s rural cuisine, fostering community engagement and cultural pride among students and faculty.The successful event was supported by Zoology department faculty members, including A. Jyoti Lakshmi, K. Surender Reddy, Ravinder Rao, K. Kiranmai, Kalpana, and Samatha.
