Karimnagar Dairy Chairman flays politicians for making false and baseless allegations about dairy causing pollution in its vicinity

KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 07, 2025: Karimnagar Dairy albeit Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited Chairman Ch Rajeshwar Rao has launched a scathing attack against some of the political party leaders for their ulterior motives to damage the image of the Karimnagar dairy with their false allegations on the dairy causing pollution in Karimnagar town.

Reminding the incidents of some leaders approaching the Telangana Pollution Control Board over alleged pollution being caused by the dairy in the town and others alleging that the dairy was serving poor quality and adulterated milk, the Karimnagar Dairy chairman clarified that the Karimnagar Dairy was the one which was located in the heart of Karimnagar town.

He said that the state government Vijaya Dairy in Hyderabad is located in Lalapet which is fully surrounded by residential areas the Mother Dairy in New Delhi is located in residential areas and the Nandini Dairy in Bengaluru is also located in the residential areas. He clarified that the dairy will not cause any pollution as they serve life-saving milk and milk products.

He also added that the wastewater from the Karimnagar dairy is being treated at Effluent Treatment Plant and the treated was being used for growing fodder, cattle feed, raising cattle and dairy gardening works and there was no question of causing ground water pollution. When there is no pollution in the treated water as is evident with the growth of fodder and cattle and garden, how the politicians can alleged that the Karimnagar Dairy was causing pollution and causing skin allergies and abortions, he questioned.

Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, the Karimnagar Dairy chairman appealed to the politicians to think about the milk-producing farmers before making false and baseless allegations about the dairy, which was providing livelihood to over one lakh farmers and emerged as the number one dairy in the Telangana state by providing quality milk and milk products to the customers.

Stating that the Karimnagar Dairy was procuring 1.8 lakh litres of milk per day from the farmers, he said that they were selling around 1.5 lakh of milk which includes 1.04 lakh litres of milk and over 40,000 litres of curd in the Telangana state including Hyderabad city. He said that they were forced to convert about 30,000 litres of milk as powder as the government had instructed the temples in the integrated Karimnagar district to use only Vijaya dairy ghee and the schools to use Vijaya milk.

He also stated that they were processing the milk at the fully-automated mega dairy project at Nallagonda village in Thimmapur mandal and they were only producing curd and sweets in Karimnagar town. He also said that they would soon produce curd at the mega-dairy by using state-of-the-art technology untouched by the human hand. Dairy MD P Shankar Reddy, Directors M Prabhakar Rao, Narayana Reddy and others were also present.
