JAGTIAL, MARCH 19, 2024: The Jagtial district police have arrested two persons on the charges of hunting a peacock (National bird) to consume its meat on the outskirts of Domalakunta village of Mallial mandal on Monday.
Based on a tip-off, Jagtial DSP Raghu Chander alerted the Mallial Inspector and the Pegadapalli police personnel. The police during the search operations arrested Naluvala Satyanarayana alias Shikari Satyam (63) of Laxmidevipalli village in Gangadhara mandal and and Javvaji Raju (33) of Mallial mandal. The police seized a sporting rifle and dead national bird and their car, an axe and 34 rounds of ammunition.
The police registered criminal case against the accused persons under IPC sections 429, Arms Act and Wild Life Protection Act in Pegadapalli police station. Jagtial SP Sanpreet Singh congratulated for their operation.
