Two BRS municipal corporators proxies were arrested by police and produced before the court which remanded them to 14 days judicial custody
KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 09, 2024: The BRS Karimnagar district unit received another shock as the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have arrested the BRS leaders and proxies of women municipal corporators along with another person was arrested on the charges of land grabbing, cheating and terrorizing the people in Karimnagar town on Friday.
The Karimnagar police have arrested Kola Prashanth, husband of 17th division municipal corporator, Sudagoni Krishna Goud, husband of BRS corporator from 18th division and realtor Aleti Bharath. They were produced before the court, which had remanded them for 14 days of judicial custody on Friday.
Victim G Raji Reddy has lodged a complaint with Kothapalli police station against the accused persons for cheating him promising the land after collecting the amount of Rs 1.37 crore by showing fake documents in Rekurthi. When he realized that the accused persons had cheated him and threatening for killing him if demanded his money back, he had approached the police.
The police have registered cases under IPC sections 420, 465, 467, 471, 386, 506, 120 read with 34 and launched the investigation. A municipal corporator’s husband Kola Prashanth was absconding after registration of case and taking shelter in Hyderabad. The police constituted three special teams and nabbed him in Hyderabad and produced before the court, which remanded him to 14 days judicial custody.
