Seizes 1035 kgs of sweets worth Rs 7.75 lakhs
Sudershan Reddy Pure Ghee Sweets at Tarnaka was ordered to be closed for operating without FSSAI licence
HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 23, 2026: The TG-SAFE Food Wing and enforcement officials inspected sweet shops across the Hyderabad CURE limits on Thursday, October 22, and found several food safety violations, including the sale of expired sweets, unhygienic preparation conditions and the presence of insects and fungus in food items.
A total of 11 teams from Enforcement Wing of Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential drugs (TG SAFE) consisting of Food Safety Officers and the Police Personnel have inspected (21) Khoa and Sweet Manufacturing and Retail Units in CURE Region.
The details of the establishments inspected are as below

- M/s Majestic Sweets at Tolichowki, Golconda
- Vasireddy Swagruha Foods at Prashanth Nagar, Kukatpally
- Abhiruchi Swagruha Foods at SR Nagar
- Harsha Enterprises (Sweet Basket) at Sri Nagar Colony
- Almond House Pvt Ltd at KPHB Colony, Kukatpally
- Dadus Mithai Vatika at Kukatpally
- Madhur Sweets at Humayun Nagar, Masab Tank
- Rajeev Reddy Sweets at Nallakunta
- Shiva Nagi Reddy Sweets in Jeedimetla
- Paruchuri Foods, Yousufguda Main Road
- Godavari Vantillu at Vengal Rao Nagar
- M/s. Shubham Home Foods at Indira Park
- M/s. Pramada’s Sweets, Hots & Pickles at Indira Park
- Raviteja Home Foods Pvt Ltd at Kukatpally
- Bicha Reddy Sweets located at Chandanagar
- Sudershan Reddy Pure Ghee Sweets at Tarnaka
- Balaji Ratanlal Sweet Shop at Kachiguda
- Sreeja Home Foods at Chandanagar
- Kakarla Swagruha Foods at Moulali
During the course of inspection, the officials have noticed the following violations in some of the establishments
- Damaged flooring with littering of food waste
- Unclean washing area and drains clogged with food waste
- Walls found to be dirty with spillage of food waste
- Housefly, cockroach and Rodent Infestaion
- Absence of records like pest control records, health records of food handlers etc
- Food handlers found without hairnets, gloves etc
- Greasy exhausts and chimneys
- Use of unclean cloth, news papers etc for covering of sweets
- Presence of expired and mislabeled food articles
- Pest infestation in food articles
In view of the violations, the following actions are being taken
- (21) samples have been lifted on suspicion of adulteration
- 1035 Kg of Food articles worth Rs. 7,75,850/-/- (Rupees Seven Lakhs Seventy Five Thousand and Eight Hundred and Fifty Only) were seized
- M/s Sudershan Reddy Pure Ghee Sweets at Tarnaka was ordered to be closed for operating without FSSAI License with unhygienic and slippery flooring, presence of expired food articles, pest infestation in food articles, exhauts found to be rusty and greasy, lack of proper records like pest control records, etc
- Improvement notice will be issued to (06) establishments which are M/ Meethe Miya at Road No 7, Banjara hills, M/s Majestic Sweets, Tolichowki, M/s Shiva Nagi Reddy Sweets in Jeedimetla, M/s Godavari Vantillu at Vengal Rao Nagar, M/s. Shubham Home Foods at Indira Park, M/s. Pramada’s Sweets, Hots & Pickles at Indira Park for rectification of the lapses identified during the inspection. The establishments will be revisited to verify the status of compliance with the food safety norms and further action will be taken based on reinspection.
- Show Cause Notice were issued to (07) establishments which are M/s Honey Foods Gundlapochampally, Medchal, M/s Harsha Enterprises (Sweet Basket) at Sri Nagar Colony, Hyderabad, M/s Almond House Pvt Ltd at Kukatpally, M/s Dadus Mithai Vatika at Kukatpally, M/s Rajeev Reddy Sweets at Nallakunta, M/s Paruchuri Foods at Yousufguda Main Road and M/s Sudershan Reddy Pure Ghee Sweets at Tarnaka for the violations reported during the inspections and further action will be initiated for imposing penalties
- The FSSAI Licenses pertaining to the following (03) establishments are suspended with instructions to stop the business operations immediately in the interest of public health
- Vasireddy Swagruha Foods at Prashanth Nagar, Kukatpally for Unhygienic premises with presence of cobwebs, greasy exhauts, improper storage practices, lack of personel hygiene of food handlers who were found with over grown nails, presence of storage pests in the food articles, cockroach infestation, fungal contamination in pickles etc.,
- Madhur Sweets at Humayun Nagar, Masab Tank for Improper License category, sweets found covered with curtains and newspapers, presence of cockroaches and pest in food articles, FSSAI Registration no of several packed food articles found to be expired and hence 705 Kg of food articles worth Rs. 5,63,000/- has been seized, trays and working tables found to be unhygienic, exhausts and stoves found greasy, use of non-food grade rose water, lack of mandatory documents like pest control records, health records of food handlers etc
- Bicha Reddy Sweets located at Chandanagar for Sweet manufacturing done in unhygienic conditions, algal growth on walls, slippery and uneven flooring, rusted equipment, presence of expired food articles, presence of cobwebs and rat feces, food articles like ghee found without proper labelling and hence 330 kg of Ghee worth Rs. 2,12,850/- was seized, lack of documentation like pest control records, health records etc
