WARANGAL, MARCH 22, 2024: In a shocking incident, Mahabubabad Sub-Registrar Tasleema Mohammed, who has won accolades for her social service activities in the district, was trapped red-handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 19,200 at land sub-registrar office on Friday.
The ACB officials have also seized Rs 1.78 lakhs from private document writers of the sub-registrar office.
Sources said that Tasleema has demanded a bribe for land registration from a complainant, who had approached the ACB, who laid trap and caught the Sub-registrar red-handed while accepting the bribe.
It may be recalled that Tasleema had won appreciations in the erstwhile Warangal district for her social service activities and even working on holidays in the fields and providing the wages earned to the poor persons. Incidentally, she used to campaign against corruption during her meetings and election awareness campaigns also.
