

BADADRI-KOTHAGUDEM, APRIL 05, 2025: As many as 86 naxalites from Chhattisgarh state from Sukma and Bijapur districts have surrendered before the police here on Saturday. Incidentally, it was the first instance in Telangana wherein such a large number of Maoists surrendered to the police at a time.

The Maoists Naxalites surrendered before Inspector General of Police (IGP) Multi Zone-I, S Chandrashekhar Reddy on Saturday. Among the surrendered Naxalites, there were 20 women and 66 men.
It may be mentioned here that during the last four months, a record number of 66 Naxalites were arrested and 203 Naxalites surrendered, and all the surrendered Naxalites were provided immediate assistance of Rs 25,000 each. Kothagudem SP Rohith Raj, Mulugu SP Shabarish and others were also present. The police appealed to the Naxalites to shun violence and join the mainstream of society to lead a normal life.
