KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 14, 2025: The much-hyped political drama over the registration of criminal cases and the subsequent arrest of Huzurabad legislator Padi Kaushik Reddy and later the Karimnagar court granting bail had dampened the political heat in Karimnagar district.
Following the complaint lodged by Jagtial MLA’s PA K Vinod Kumar, the police registered criminal cases against the Huzurabad MLA Kaushik Reddy for creating commotion at the District Review Committee (DRC) meeting chaired by incharge minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who is a close relative of Kaushik Reddy, for ensuing in an heated argument with Jagtial legislator Dr M Sanjay Kumar on Sunday evening.
The Karimnagar police team led by an ACP rank officer and an Inspector and other police officials numbering over 40 swung into action and rushed to Hyderabad and arrested the Huzurabad BRS MLA on Monday night and brought him to Karimnagar town. Following the protests by BRS rank and file at Karimnagar town one police station on Monday night, the police shifted Kaushik Reddy to CTC on the outskirts of the town. Later, he was shifted to Karimnagar Three Town police Station where the police made all arrangements for him to take a rest at the police station.
After conducting medical tests at the Three Town police station, he was produced by the magistrate in Karimnagar. The judge after listening to the arguments sanctioned bail to Kaushik Reddy. After his release, he called on BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao and former Minister T Harish Rao in Hyderabad.
