JAYASHANKAR-BHUPALAPALLI, JUNE 29, 2024: Following the intelligence reports about possible intrusion of Maoists naxalties from the adjoining Chatisgarh district into the Telangana state, the Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli district police have intensified their surveillance on the borders of the district along the shores of river Godavari on Saturday.
Accordingly, Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli district SP Kiran Khare visited the Kaleshwaram police station and inspected the sand reaches and also the flow of river Godavari at Mahadevpur and Palmela mandal abutting Chatisgarh state. He directed the police officials to intensify the patrolling and area domination in the forests abutting the river Godavari and avoid intrusion of Maoists Naxalites into the Telangana state.
The Bastar region in Chatisgarh state is known for the shelter zone of the Maoists. Right from Pankela, Palmela to the Badradri Kothagudem borders along the shores of the river Godavari is the possible intrusion points for the Naxalites. The SP directed the police officials to be alert and intensify the area domination to check intrusion of Naxalites.
