KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 22, 2024: Students got a close look at the functioning of the police department at an ‘Open House’ organised by the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police at the Police Parade Grounds here on Tuesday. The event was held as part of the Police Martyrs Commemoration Week. More than 1,000 students from various schools and colleges attended.
Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty formally inaugurated the Open House along with the school students. A wide range of arms, including light machine guns, sophisticated rifles, pistols, and devices used in the detection of bombs and other explosive substances, were displayed at the venue. In addition, the policemen demonstrated the handling of weapons.
A drill on different methods of crowd control, such as using tear gas, water cannons by using Vajra vehicles, and lathi-charge, was also conducted at the venue. The police dog squad team also displayed excellent dog performance. The police officials also set up stalls to explain the functioning of Cybercrime, the Anti-Narcotics cell, SHE teams, Traffic police, Command Control, etc.
The CP interacted with the students and explained how the police department functions. Additional DCP (L&O) A Laxminarayana, Additional DCP (AR) Anok Jay Kumar, ACPs Vijay Kumar, Madhavi, Narender, Reserve Inspectors Rajinikanth, Sridhar Reddy, Kumara Swamy, and others were also present.
