In a statement here on Sunday, Association President A Sadanandam and General Secretary V Ravinder stated that the womenfolk in the country are working in a dangerous and insecure environment. Even after the Nirbhaya incident in New Delhi and the strict enforcement of laws in the country, still, such incidents are recurring pointing the finger at the failure of the mechanism, they stated.
They demanded that the government should formulate and implement programmes for promoting gender consciousness by allocating Rs 100 crore to the Nirbhaya fund as recommended by Justice Varma committee
