

HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 11, 2025: Officials of the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana seized RedFer-XT Tablets (Ferrous Ascorbate, Folic Acid Tablets & Zinc Tablets) in Ramagundam, Peddapalli District, which were falsely manufactured and sold under the guise of ‘food products/nutraceuticals’ and ‘Sodium Phosphates Enema BP,’ an Allopathic medicine, in Kaghaznagar, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad District for making misleading advertisement that it treats ‘Convulsions’.


In an official release here on Tuesday, DCA Director-General VB Kamalasan Reddy said that the officials have detected the product RedFer-XT Tablets (Ferrous Ascorbate, Folic Acid Tablets & Zinc Tablets) circulating in the market on Monday in Ramagundam. The product was found to be manufactured by Br Nutracare, Plot No 5, Opp Vijaya Gardens Colony, Bandlaguda, Hyderabad-500068 and marketed by Sri Dr Sri Reddy’s Laab, 2-3-634, Road No. 1, Sai Nagar Colony, Nagole Village, Hyderabad-500068.
The said product was falsely manufactured under a ‘food license (FSSAI license)’ and falsely claimed to be a food product/nutraceutical. According to the label composition of the product, it is classified as a drug under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
Seizure of drugs for misleading advertisements:
The DCA detected an Allopathic medicine ‘Sodium Phosphates Enema BP,’ moving in the market with misleading claim on its labels that it treats ‘Convulsions’ which is a contravention of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
During the raid conducted on 10th February to detect medicines moving in the market with misleading and objectionable advertisements, DCA officials detected ‘Sodium Phosphates Enema BP,’ Manufactured by: Bhandari Labs, 1, Udhyogpuri, Agar Road, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. G Aswani, Drugs Inspector, Asifabad carried out the raid. Further investigation shall be carried out and action shall be taken as per the law against all the offenders.
The public may report any suspected manufacturing activity related to drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in residential, commercial, or industrial areas, as well as any other complaints regarding illegal activities concerning medicines, through the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana Toll-Free Number 1800-599-6969, which is operational from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on all working days.
