KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 16, 2024: The Karimnagar Police on Friday have taken husbands of two municipal corporators belonging to BRS and another person into the police custody, who were arrested and lodged in Karimnagar jail over cheating a person to the tune of Rs 1.37 crore by showing forged land documents.
Following a complaint lodged by victim G Raji Reddy of Vemulawada in Rajanna-Sircilla district, the police have arrested Kola Prashanth, husband of 17th division municipal corporator, S Krishna Goud, husband of 18th division corporator and Bharath Reddy of Ramannapet village of Jagtial district and produced before the court on February 9. The court remanded them to 14 days judicial custody.
The police, as part of the investigation into the case of cheating, sought the permission of the court for their custody of the accused persons. The court granted permission for one-day police custody. The Karimnagar Rural inspector Pradeep Kumar has taken them into custody and visited their houses in various parts of the town and seized several documents pertaining to the case.
