RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, MAY 21, 2024: A woman Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) worker was killed and six others sustained injuries when a huge mound of earth caved in on them at a local tank in Venkatraopet village of Konaraopet mandal on Tuesday.
Reports reaching here said that the MGNREGS workers were engaged in the desiltation of the village tank when suddenly the earth caved in seriously injuring Marupaka Rajavva (50) and others. She was shifted to Sircilla Area hospital where she breathed her last while undergoing treatment. The condition of others were stated to be out of danger.
