KAMAREDDY, NOVEMBER 14, 2024: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau have arrested a Sub-Inspector of Police and a Police Constable (station writer) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant in Lingampet police station of Kamareddy district on Thursday.
Sources said that the police constable Thota Rama Swamy was caught red-handed when he accepted the bribe amount of Rs 10,000 from the complainant following the instructions of Sub-inspector of the police station P Arun to do official favour of issuing notice in crime number 186/2024. The fingers of the police constable yielded positive in a chemical test.
It is alleged that the SI and the police constable performed their duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. The accused SI and police constable have been arrested and produced before the ACB cases court in Karimnagar town.
